Justin Timberlake plays ball with Clint Eastwood

TimberlakeEastwood"The Social Network" star Justin Timberlake is set to join Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams in Warner Bros.' "Trouble With the Curve," which will mark the directorial debut of Eastwood's longtime producing partner Robert Lorenz. Randy Brown wrote the script, which finds Eastwood playing an aging baseball scout with vision problems who takes a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to take a look at a hot prospect. Timberlake will play Eastwood's pal Johnny Flanagan, a former pitcher who now works as a baseball scout for the NY Yankees. His character is a potential love interest for Adams, who plays Eastwood's daughter. Eastwood and Lorenz will produce through their Malpaso banner, while Michele Weissler will also be involved in a producer capacity, having who brought the project to Malpaso. Sarah Schechter will oversee the project for WB. "Curve" will mark the first film Eastwood has starred in but did not direct since Wolfgang Petersen's 1993 thriller "In the Line of Fire." Timberlake, who recently starred in "Bad Teacher," "In Time" and "Friends With Benefits," will soon begin filming the Coen Bros.' folk music pic "Inside Llewyn Davis" with love interest Carey Mulligan and star Oscar Isaac. Incognito acquires $50 mil in financing

Incognito Pictures, introduced by ex-PayPal executive and financier Jack Selby, has launched with $50 million in financing and extended-term output deal with The Weinstein Co. Banner introduced the launch Monday and mentioned it's dedicated to "creating intelligent, genre-agnostic films with worldwide appeal." La-based Incognito will unveil its initial slate later. The agreement with TWC covers distribution across all platforms, including foreign sales and domestic theatrical releases. Selby assists as chairman which is being grew to become part of by veteran producer Scott Stone, who's been attracted on as Boss. "Exactly why is Incognito unique is always that we have guaranteed significant permanent capital which previously remains placed on films at greater cost points," the duo mentioned in the statement. "Rather, there is available a distinctive opportunity to fill an underserved market more half way decent allotted films with specialized content that draws in audiences, both in your area and abroad." David Glasser, TWC's chief operating officer, mentioned "Incognito features a strong business and business design additionally to great type of product." Selby launched Horsethief Pictures in the finish of 2009. Crudup Knows Existence At These Speeds

BAFTA to fete Martin Scorsese

LONDON -- Martin Scorsese is set to be honored with a BAFTA fellowship at this year's film awards ceremony. The fellowship, which is awarded annually by BAFTA, is bestowed upon an individual in recognition of an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film. Scorsese will be honored for his celebrated career spanning across six decades, in which he has helmed works such as "Taxi Driver," "Raging Bull," "Gangs of NY," "The Aviator," "The Departed" and this year's 3D pic "Hugo." He has been nominated for a BAFTA nine times, garnering three wins in 1991 for "Goodfellas." "Martin Scorsese is a legend in his lifetime; a true inspiration to all young directors the world over," said BAFTA chairman Tim Corrie. "We are delighted to honor his contribution to cinema history and look forward to paying tribute to him in London on February 12." Previously honored Fellows include Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Sean Connery, Elizabeth Taylor, Stanley Kubrick, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, Judi Dench and Vanessa Redgrave. Christopher Lee received the fellowship at the BAFTA film awards last year. The BAFTA film awards ceremony will unspool at London's Royal Opera House on Feb. 12.
